Write a Letter to the Editor

A letter to the editor (LTE) is a short letter to a local newspaper or publication that gives your opinion on an issue, and calls on your lawmakers or fellow community members to take action. Before you write your letter, take a look at the LTE guide for some tips and best practices to getting your letter published. Then download the fact sheet for the issue you want to write about for more specific guidance. Once you're ready to submit your letter, choose your state in the dropdown menu to the right, then follow the instructions for sending an LTE to any (or all) of your local papers.
